Mrs. Grundy herein provides meticulous evidence of the Reign of Ridicule. For 300 years, literary, political and cultural elites presumed to speak as, and for, Mrs. Grundy. They gilded their names, burnished their fame and lined their pockets, while she remained silent. Until now.

Unlike the French Reign of Terror, there is no single, short-lived Robespierre to blame. Dozens of scoundrels usurped Mrs. Grundy’s moral authority and sullied her good name. The ignominious infamy continues to this very day.
